Job Description:

$3,500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR RNS WITH ONE PLUS YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

The Medical Management Unit is specialized department that promotes education, collaboration and innovative practice. Registered Nurses in the unit play an integral role in assisting Newly Licensed Nurses transition into bedside practice. In collaboration with unit leadership and education, colleagues in the MMU pilot initiatives to enhance patient care and support professional growth. In addition to helping Newly Licensed Nurses transition to their role as a Registered Nurse, colleagues in the MMU work with nursing students as they are introduced to bedside nursing practice. The Medical Management Unit is great opportunity to impact novice nurses as they start their careers, and ultimately, enhance patient care. As we continue to grow, we are seeking experienced and qualified nurses to join our interdisciplinary teams.

At Lahey Hospital & Medical Center we utilize complete computerized charting (EPIC) for patient assessment and care documentation, and to electronically record medication administration for the delivery of all medications provided to their patients. Computerized self-scheduling is available.

Along with excellent critical thinking skills, a desire to exceed patient expectations and good interpersonal skills, we require:

Education

Graduate of a 2-4 year state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing; BSN Degree Required

Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
  • BLS certification with American Heart Association

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge to provide care for patients according to Nursing Policy and Procedures. See Skill Record.
  • Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to the clinic specific competencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Physical Requirement: Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs

Med/Surg Shift:

36 Days/Nights; 12 hour shifts; every third weekend and holiday rotation commitment
